Woofur offers a variety of canine training classes and private behavior modification sessions to work closely with you and your dog using positive reinforcement training methods.  We introduce appropriate techniques, socialization opportunities, and training equipment that are suited to the level of your dog.  For group classes, we limit our class sizes to ensure that you and your dog receive appropriate attention from our trainers.

The following are obedience classes that are offered:

PUPPY FOUNDATIONS

Course Duration: 5 weeks, 1 Hour Per Class
Age of Dogs: 6 months or younger
Fee: $175

Course Description:

This course focuses on properly socializing young dogs to teach them how to interact with dogs and people appropriately. You will learn about the foundations to caring for a puppy as well as how to desensitize them to sounds, actions, people, and objects. Topics covered may include housebreaking, crate training, bite inhibition, establishing respectful relationships within your family, controlling nipping, chewing, digging, barking, resource guarding, household manners, how to handle your dog calmly, how to be respectful around food and other items in the home, understanding pet wellness and nutrition, as well as to understand your puppy's mindset.  Our trainer will conduct this course through lectures, demonstrations, exercises, and play time, allowing your dog to interact and socialize with others. At the end of the course, your dog will be ready for the next level - Manners & Obedience I (Beginner).

 

MANNERS & OBEDIENCE I (BEGINNER)

Course Duration:  6 weeks, 1 Hour per Class
Age of Dogs: 20 weeks and up
Fee: $210

Course Description:

This obedience course focuses on teaching your dog how to walk properly on and off leash with you, how to approach a curb safely on leash, how to be respectful around all members of the family, how to be respectful with items as needed, how to be attentive and responsive even in distractions, how to stay for a short duration, come to you when called, how to perform distance commands, learn about pet wellness/nutrition, and understand the mindset of your dog to interpret his/her behavior. Our trainer will conduct this course through lectures, demonstrations, and exercises. Appropriate play time will be allocated at the end of each class and owners will be taught about interaction behavior. At the end of the course, your dog will be ready for the next level - Manners & Obedience II (Intermediate).

 

MANNERS & OBEDIENCE II (INTERMEDIATE)

Course Duration:  6 weeks, 1 Hour per Class
Age of Dogs: 20 weeks and up
Fee: $225

Course Description:

This course is designed to build upon the Manners & Obedience I (Beginner) class.  Its focus is on teaching your dog to respond despite of distractions, distance commands, stylish loose leash walking, outdoor reliability, understanding boundaries within your home, emergency commands, polite greeting and socialization with dogs, off leash work with your dog, as well as some handy tricks to keep your dog engaged at home!  Our trainer will conduct this course through lectures, demonstrations, and exercises.  Appropriate play time will be allocated at the end of each class to allow your dog to socialize with other dogs, and owners will be taught about interaction behavior.  At the end of the course, your dog will be ready for the next level - Manners & Obedience ||| (Advanced).

 

MANNERS & OBEDIENCE III (ADVANCED)

Course Duration:  6 weeks, 1 Hour per Class
Age of Dogs: 20 weeks and up
Fee: $250

Course Description:

This course is designed to build upon the Manners & Obedience II (Intermediate) class.  The focus of the class is on working with your dogs off-leash at long distances, providing useful tools that can be used by you and your dogs to deal with various situations.  This class will also introduce your dog to some rally exercises, agility exercises (equipment will be provided during class), how to utilize your dog in useful ways to help you, how to be respectful of boundaries even when off-leash.  Our trainer will conduct this course through lectures, demonstrations, and exercises.  Appropriate play time will be allocated at the end of each class to allow your dog to socialize with other dogs, and owners will be taught about interaction behavior. At the end of the course, your dog can branch out to take Tricks Classes, Rally Classes, and/or Agility Classes.
