Woofur offers a variety of canine training classes and private behavior modification sessions to work closely with you and your dog using positive reinforcement training methods.  We introduce appropriate techniques, socialization opportunities, and training equipment that are suited to the level of your dog.  For group classes, we limit our class sizes to ensure that you and your dog receive appropriate attention from our trainers.

The following are obedience classes that are offered:

PUPPY SOCIALIZATION CLASS

Course Duration: 4 weeks, 1 Hour Per Class

Age of Dogs: 6 months or younger

Course Description:

This course focuses on socialization of puppies to teach them to interact with dogs and people appropriately, desensitization to sound, actions, people, and objects, housebreaking, crate training, bite inhibition, establishing alpha roles within your family, controlling nipping, chewing, digging, barking, resource guarding, household manners, handling your dog calmly,  understanding your puppy's mindset, and how to walk on leash properly.  Our trainer will conduct this course through lectures, demonstrations, exercises, and play time to allow your dog to socialize. At the end of the course, your dog will be ready for the next level - Beginner's Obedience.

 

MANNERS & OBEDIENCE I (BEGINNER'S)

Course Duration:  6 weeks, 1 Hour per Class

Age of Dogs: 20 weeks and up

Course Description:

This course focuses on teaching your dog how to walk properly on leash with you, how to take, leave, or drop items as needed, to be attentive and responsive even in distractions, how to stay for a short duration, come to you when called, how to approach a curb safely on leash, maintain well social behaviors around dogs and people, desensitization to sound, actions, people, and objects, and understanding the mindset of your dog to interpret his/her behavior.  Our trainer will conduct this course through lectures, demonstrations, and exercises.  Appropriate play time will be allocated at the end of each class to allow your dog to socialize with other dogs, and owners will be taught about interaction behavior.  At the end of the course, your dog will be ready for the next level - Intermediate Obedience.

 

MANNERS & OBEDIENCE II (INTERMEDIATE)

Course Duration:  6 weeks, 1 Hour per Class

Age of Dogs: 20 weeks and up

Course Description:

This course is designed to build upon the Beginner's Class.  Its focus is on teaching your dog to respond despite of distractions, distance commands, stylish loose leash walking, outdoor reliability, understanding boundaries within your home, emergency commands, polite greeting and socialization with dogs, as well as some handy tricks to keep your dog engaged at home!  Our trainer will conduct this course through lectures, demonstrations, and exercises.  Appropriate play time will be allocated at the end of each class to allow your dog to socialize with other dogs, and owners will be taught about interaction behaviour.  At the end of the course, your dog will be ready for the next level - Advance Obedience.

 

MANNERS & OBEDIENCE III (ADVANCED)

Course Duration:  6 weeks, 1 Hour per Class

Age of Dogs: 20 weeks and up

Course Description:

This course is designed to build upon the Intermediate Obedience class.  The focus of the class is on working with your dogs off-leash at long distances, providing useful tools that can be used by you and your dogs to deal with various situations.  This class will also introduce your dog to some rally exercises, agility exercises (equipment will be provided during class), how to utilize your dog in useful ways to help you, how to be respectful of boundaries even when off-leash.  Our trainer will conduct this course through lectures, demonstrations, and exercises.  Appropriate play time will be allocated at the end of each class to allow your dog to socialize with other dogs, and owners will be taught about interaction behaviour. At the end of the course, your dog can branch out to take Tricks Classes, Rally Classes, and/or Agility Classes.
